About the Authors:
Dr. Lorea Martinez is an Education Consultant supporting schools and teachers integrate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in their educational programs and teaching practices as they transition to the Common Core State Standards. She holds a PhD from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona; a former special and general education teacher, administrator and data analyst. She is based in the San Francisco-Bay Area, but consults across the US and Spain.
Dr. Susan Stillman is Director of Education at Six Seconds. She has been an advocate and leader promoting SEL in education since the mid 1990 s when she chaired her district s strategic planning subcommittee on ‘personal and social responsibility’ and implemented an SEL initiative in her Connecticut public school. Since then, she has frequently presented at local, state, and national conferences, published widely, and consulted globally in emotional intelligence and social emotional learning.
